7th Grade Metal Tooling Project

My 7th graders always make for interesting classes.

This year we completed a mixed media project including metal tooling, marker and colored pencil.

We began this project with an overview of the Principles of Design.

Once we take notes and discuss the Principles of Design, we move on to practicing our designs in our notebook. Students are required to draw 6 different designs in their notebooks. I have several different pages of Zentangle type designs printed for them to use as inspiration.

Once they have finished with their practice designs, give them a piece of metal and they first decide if they are going to use the silver or copper side.

Next I place a direction sheet on their table (this is a new thing im trying. I explain the project and the directions then I have them typed up and placed in a sheet protector so that one can be put on each table)

Students are allowed to use Marker or colored pencil or both to complete their project.
